The fertility rate, expressed as the number of children per woman, is based on age-specific fertility rates in one particular year. Extreme poverty is defined as living below theInternational Poverty Line of $2.15 per day.

Note: Poverty data is expressed in international-$ at 2017 prices to account for inflation and differences in the cost of living between countries. Depending on the country and year, it relates toincome measured after taxes and benefits, or to consumption, per capita.
